How to Prepare for SSC Exams in 2016

SSC CGL (Combined Graduate Level) is one of the most sought after government examination in the country as it is a staircase for the Group B and Group C posts in various departments, and ministries in the government. Staff Selection Commission conducts the Exam.  Though, every year lakhs of aspirants attempt this exam only a part of them can bag the jobs. It is very necessary to devise a proper strategy to go for this exam if one wishes to come off in flying colours.



Here, are some useful tips to get an edge over others in the examination and secure one’s selection.

1) Plan your time: Make a time table and follow it routinely. Remember, the one who fails to plan, plans to fail.

2) Start practicing earlier: Start your studies atleast 3 months before the exam. Remember, Early bird catches the worm.

3) Follow right books: The SSC CGL Exam is divided in four sections:  

a) General Intelligence and Reasoning
b) General Knowledge and Awareness
c) Quantitative Aptitude
d) English

Purchase books with good content from the market for preparation of each section. Understand the types of questions asked, the level maintained and then follow the proper way to approach them.

4) Follow the Syllabus: Prior to start groundwork know the syllabus for SSC CGL 2016 Examination. Make a detailed study of the Syllabus to get the topics right.

5) Divide and study: Make partitions of the syllabus as per each section that can be followed regularly according to the time-table. Do remember to revise what you have learned regularly and timely.

6) Rework on time: Ahead of the examination (3 days before), make sure to revise as much as you can so that your mind can retain it on the day of the exam.

7) Stay fit: Maintain your health during examination as bad health can hinder your progress and preparation. It’s essential to have an active body and mind during the exam days.

8) Practice makes perfect: During preparation read as many books as you can and solve previous year’s paper. Practice more and more to get an edge over others.

9) Do not leave anything for later: Believing a section to be easy, do not leave it for the end. Complete all the sections.

10) Work out consistently: Solve a previous year paper or a mock test on a daily basis. Attempt 200 questions correctly within 2 hours.

11) Use Short-cuts: Learn or find short-cut tricks to solve mathematical problems or keeping difficult topics in mind and memorize them well.

12) Manage questions: Manage time of your question paper and predefine the time that you are going to devote to each section and question. For example:

15 minutes to general knowledge,
20 minutes to English,
35 minutes to reasoning,
and the remaining time to Quantitative Aptitude.

Bear in mind, 8-20 minutes may be consumed in filling up the boxes as per your speed.

13) Map sections: Make a map the section you are going to attempt first, second, third and last according to the time management.

14) Focus on Best: Lay emphasis on a section that you are confident about and comfortable with and attempt it first.

Important Examinations going to be held in the year 2016

Every year millions of government job aspirants strive hard to prepare for the Banking and SSC examinations. Let’s get a glimpse of the 10 most important examinations that are going to be held this year:

Bank Po & SSC CGL Coaching

1. IBPS PO Exam
The notification for the 2016 IBPS PO (Probationary Officer) examination is expected to be released in July. Accordingly, the Preliminary examinations are anticipated to be held in October. Whereas, the Mains in November.

2. SBI PO Exam
Like every year, this year also the Country’s largest Lender State Bank of India (SBI) is going to recruit work force through PO examination. The Notification regarding the examination will be released in April. The Preliminary exam is likely to be held in June while the Mains will be organized in August.

3. IBPS Specialist Officer
Apart from Bank PO and Clerk, IBPS also arrange examinations for the post of Specialist Officer (SO) yearly. In this exam, applications are also requested under categories as IT Officer, Law Officer, Agriculture Officer, Marketing Officer, HR Officer, Rajbhasha Adhikari. As of now, no Notice has been released proposing the schedule of the examination.

4. SSC CGL
As each year, this year too the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) will organize Combined Graduate Level (CGL) exams to recruit for various posts. All these employments will be for the ministry. B and C Cadre posts will be included in this exam.
Notifications will be out in February for the same. Tier-1 exam is supposed to be held in May whereas the Tier-2 will be arranged in August.

5. RBI Grade B Examination
The exam brings a golden opportunity for the aspirants willing to work in the country’s Central Bank, The Reserve Bank of India. With respect to this, the Notification will be released in month of June. Thereby, the Prelims are proposed to be in August and the Main exam in October. 

6. LIC AAO
LIC (Life Insurance Corporation) of India will hire for the three posts - Administration AAO, Development AAO and Accounts AAO. The exam is scheduled to be held in March.
